I'm developing this topic from a recent link provided by Ed Leaver on a solar thread. Here is the link.

What intrigued me was a comment that followed an article about bought and payed for think tanks, in this case in particular, one with an environmental orientation. The comment involved a divide two groups have with most environmentalists, groups I have run across from time to time in my reading, conversations and forum wanderings. The issue is illegal immigration and environmentalist silence about it. From my perspective the groups are:
1. Labor groups concerned with political and economic equity, generally considered a positive among environmentalists.
2. Groups particularly concerned with overpopulation, generally understood to be a growing burden on our planet.
Whatever your particular energy, and/or environmental focus is, it has to relate to a wider world and not simply get stuck in its own special cul-de-sac. This commentator is addressing a real concern no matter how much he is stacking the deck. Here's the quote.

My litmus test for honesty and integrity is the immigration "reform" bill. I don't think I have heard one disparaging word against the need for reform, not one, and for me that is a red flag. Just like the build up to the Iraq war, all the MSM went full bore repeating the lies and the justifications from the White House and "think tanks, all seemingly reading from the same program, all in a rush, like there was a limited amount of time to get this started. Now we have immigration reform. We have 8 highly corrupted Senators leading the fight, and yet no one questioned their intensions or motivation. So many of my progressive friends have fallen right in line, dancing to the music like they have not a brain in their heads. All this increased immigration and not one solid protection for American workers, all this legalization and yet not one concern for the low wage American workers who will have to now compete with 11 million (more like 25 million) legalized low skill workers. And who will fill all the jobs that the illegal workers used to fill, new illegal immigrants. This is a numbers game, and the powers that be don't care about the US standard of living they know America is getting older, but we live in the Wall Street world, we don't know balance, only grow, grow, grow. They need more bodies to fight their wars, to fill their hospital beds, their Wal-Marts, their homes...could you imagine an America where we actually had a population decrease, not in Wall Street world, too much money to be made, who cares what principals you need to compromise to get it, profit is the ONLY factor.
