The energy used to prepare the so-called fossil fuel for use is not considered to be beneficial, in the accounting sense. So the result is a rather low EROEI.

This compendium lists many studies of several different generator types. These are all rather generous in assigning high ratios, except for solar PV. For that however, this study may already be dated.

When cherry picked facts do not fit the agenda ... change the metric to something different. Anything different.
