Is there a forum somewhere for nuclear electricity advocates to discuss issues? I've used this forum for such things once, with my "Need Help at Huffington Post" thread, but I don't think that's really the intent for these fora and I don't want to abuse them.
So, is there a place to discuss arguments and persuasion tactics? Report on-going on-line arguments where a hand could be used? Ask, when one is stumped by or needs a reference refuting an anti argument?
The various web pages do a pretty good job of posting links to articles which are topical, but it seems like an open discussion forum would be a useful tool as well.
For example, I'm having a discussion over on the Sim City fora. Yes, Sim City. It's always bugged me that if one builds a nuclear reactor to power one's city, it inevitably explodes and permanently contaminates the surrounding area (early B&W versions). They're working on a new version and are choosing the parameters for the power sources. They had the operating costs of nuclear set way higher than coal and gas. Sigh. Now game play is going to affect the facts some, but their choice of parameters suggests they've been drinking the anti-nuke cool aid without really putting much research into it.
And there are several pro nuclear folks on the forum who seem rather young and could use a place to ask questions and such when they get into arguments with staunch greens. I pointed them at the articles here, but it would be nice if there was an interactive place they could go as well.
